NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Hospital Based Instructor
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Instructors need to be well versed in the American Academy of Pediatrics NRP and American Heart Association BLS, its materials, and the techniques used to teach these resuscitation skills. The instructor must also have experience in the resuscitation of neonates following many normal and emergency deliveries in order to correctly and confidently answer questions about resuscitation.
Registered nurses, physicians, respiratory care practitioners, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants with experience in the delivery room or intensive care nursery are ideal instructors. This class provides instructions on how to effectively navigate the NRP website, schedule classes, submit course rosters, prepare a provider class agenda, provide concise and consistent information to the NRP students according to current NRP guidelines, and effectively manage clinical simulations and testing.
